Pioneers
Gottfried Leibniz Wilhelm, Blaise Pascal, Charles Babbage are the fore fathers of modern computers.
- Blaise Pascal invented one of the first mechanical calculator: The Pascaline
- Gottfried Leibniz Wilhelm invented the binary system which is the foundation of virtually all modern computer architectures. It is used internally by modern computers. Made up of 0s and 1s, it is used for card readers, electric circuits, and vacuum tubes.
- Charles Babbage is credited with invention of the first mechanical computer, called the Difference Engine, which eventually led to more complex and advanced designs. He originated the concept of a programmable computer.
